Cal and Son Carpet Corp. was established in 1975 by Florencio “Cal” Calderon and his wife Zurina Calderon. Cal began by selling carpet in the mornings and installing it evenings and weekends. As business grew, Cal retired from installing to focus on sales and management.
In 1980, Cal and Son began construction on a new facility two blocks from its original rented location. The “Son,” Alex Calderon, began working with the family on weekends and after school.
In 1992, the company built its current location six blocks up the same street — a larger warehouse and showroom for a greater range of products. Today, Cal and Son offers everything from imitation laminate to exotic hardwood, window shades to total window treatments, and natural fiber sisals to imported woven Axminster carpets.
